Know What to Eat to Lose Weight While Breastfeeding, With Help Adjusting Your Plan Along the Way
You may already have recipes, a calorie target, or a program you’ve tried. But you’re still unsure what needs to change for you, or how to keep making progress when hunger, breastfeeding, or your routine changes.
Here’s how the Milk & Metabolism Method helps you put a personalized plan into practice and get support adjusting it along the way.
Your Personal Assessments and Food-Log Reviews
We’ll look at what you’re currently eating over a few normal days, alongside your breastfeeding demands, hunger, energy, activity, and what you’ve already tried.
That helps me see where to start: how much you’re eating, what’s in your meals, long gaps without food, or habits that are difficult to follow. You’ll get guidance on how much to eat and your first one or two changes, using foods and routines you already know.
Your Four-Phase Roadmap
Understand how we’ll get from your current habits to weight loss and keeping the weight off.
First, we assess your needs. Then we work on the meals and habits that need attention, make appropriate adjustments for fat loss, and help you adapt your eating after that fat-loss phase ends.
We build on the habits you already have. Your plan reviews help us decide what needs attention and when you’re ready for the next step.
Short Video and Written Lessons
Know how to turn your plan into meals and habits you can actually follow.
If breakfast leaves you hungry an hour later, you’ll learn how to make a breakfast you enjoy more satisfying. If you don’t want to track, you’ll learn what to put on your plate and how much, so your meals fit your weight-loss plan and breastfeeding needs.
Every lesson includes a short video and a written version, so you can choose what’s easiest in the moment. Listen while you’re nursing or pumping, walking, or driving, or quickly read through the steps when you need a quick answer.
Tracking and Non-Tracking Options
Know how much to eat in a way that works for you.
If you like numbers, you’ll have personalized calorie and macro guidance.
We’ll use your assessment and what you share about your usual meals to choose a starting point. From there, you can follow your plan by tracking or by using visual portion guidance. I’ll help you adjust either approach during your personal plan reviews.
Personal Plan Reviews
Know which small changes deserve your attention next.
At each stage of the process, we check what’s working, what needs to change, and what you still need clarity on.
Your next steps reflect what’s happening for you. If your meals are working well but movement keeps getting pushed aside, we can focus there. If a habit takes more time than you have, we can simplify it.
You’ll have one or two specific actions chosen to move you toward your goal with the time and energy you have. You’ll understand why they matter, so you can spend less effort figuring out what to try next.
Biweekly Personal Text Check-Ins
Work through difficulties before they turn into giving up.
Every other week, you’ll tell me what’s going well and where you need help. We’ll use that conversation to choose your next one or two action steps.
I include these because I don’t want you reaching the end of the program still struggling with the same thing you were unsure how to fix two weeks in. If the lunch plan isn’t happening or evenings still feel difficult, I want to hear about it so we can change our approach.
On-Demand Support Between Check-Ins
Get an answer while you’re trying to use your plan.
Ask in the private community when your meals leave you hungry, your baby’s feeding pattern changes, or you’re unsure how to handle a disrupted week.
Get my feedback before deciding to cut more food, abandon a habit, or wait until your next check-in to bring it up.
BONUS: A Private Community of Breastfeeding Moms
Have moms around you who understand this season.
Connect with women balancing breastfeeding, interrupted sleep, family meals, and wanting their clothes to fit comfortably again.
See how they’re putting the method into practice, ask questions, and share the wins that someone outside this season might not understand. You’ll have encouragement when things feel difficult and people to celebrate with when you notice a change.
BONUS: Monthly Family-Friendly Meal Plans
Take “What are we going to eat?” off your list of daily decisions.
You already make a hundred decisions a day. Having meals mapped out gives you one less thing to figure out when everyone needs something and dinner is getting closer.
Choose a full week of meals, pull a few recipes, or mix them with your family’s favorites. You’ll have meals your family can eat too, without planning a separate dinner for yourself.
BONUS: Meal Options for Your Family’s Needs
Choose meals that fit your household’s dietary needs.
With standard, dairy-free, gluten-free, egg-free, and vegetarian options, you can start with recipes that suit your family instead of spending your evening searching for substitutions.
BONUS: High-Protein Snack Guide
Grab something quick that helps hold you over until your next meal.
Have easy options for when you’re heading out the door, hungry after nursing or pumping, or trying to get dinner started while the kids need you.
These are snacks you can grab or put together quickly, without a long ingredient list or another cooking project. Keep a few favorites on hand so you have something satisfying ready when you need it.
BONUS: Monthly Support Calls and New Mini Trainings
Get coaching on what’s difficult now and fresh ideas you can use this month.
Bring your questions for a fuller conversation about what’s happening and what to try. Hearing other moms’ questions can also help you connect the dots in your own day.
Each month, you’ll get a new mini training on a relevant topic, giving you practical ways to handle challenges such as cravings or all-or-nothing thinking.
BONUS: Cravings and Hunger Boot Camp
Stop feeling like your cravings decide what you eat every evening.
If you finish dinner and immediately start looking for something sweet, or keep going back to the kitchen even though you want to be done eating, this helps you understand what’s driving that pattern.
Learn how to recognize hunger, notice your craving triggers, and choose a response that helps. The goal is to enjoy food you like and feel able to stop, without spending the evening arguing with yourself about another snack.
BONUS: Fat Loss Mindset Workshop
Keep going after an off day without punishing yourself or starting over.
If takeout, dessert, or a missed workout makes you think, “I’ve already ruined it,” this workshop helps you work through that reaction.
Practice enjoying a meal, handling an imperfect day, and returning to your usual eating without skipping meals to make up for it. You’ll get practical steps for continuing with your plan so one difficult day doesn’t undo the rest of your week.
BONUS: Plateau Breakthrough Workshop
Have a short list of things to check when the scale stops moving.
Know where to look first: your weight trend over time, how your current plan is being followed, and changes in your routine or breastfeeding demands.
Use those checks to bring useful information into your plan review. We can then decide whether to make a small adjustment or give your current approach more time, without spending weeks trying random changes.
BONUS: Real-Life Eating Support
Enjoy meals out, holidays, and vacations without feeling like you’ve undone your work.
Have practical ways to choose a restaurant meal, enjoy foods you look forward to, and feed yourself when your usual options aren’t available.
You’ll learn how to make choices that fit the occasion and your goals, then carry on afterward. Your plan can include birthday cake, family dinners, and weeks when cooking is the last thing you have energy for.
